battle royale 1 is a clever piece of work based on an excellent book. the 2nd film is a horrible mess, which isn't really its fault seeing as the director died during the first few weeks of filming. unfortunatly the reigns passed onto his son, who made a horrible preachy mess of a movie that was nothing like the original battle royale (the first 30mins everyone has their collars removed). the only thing that remained was the teacher and the teens.
