Do you mean light as in weight or light as in colour? If it is a lightweight it would be a semi formal/ smart casual summer kimono. Has it long or short sleeves? How old are you? You could wear it shopping, meeting people for tea, not night time, day things that require a little more than a cotton yukata. Lunch, tea ceremony etc etc.
