That's a great post. I heard about American / European women who feel really insecure and uncomfortable in their skin when they live over in Japan because Japanese women are natually leaner and thinner. They start to feel unattractive and such, but they don't seem to realize that the genetic make up of Asian women are slightly different due to climate and other things like you said. It's all in the DNA.
I wish that there wasn't such an emphasis on being thin as a cultural ideal in this world. Why can't people just be happy as themselves? If you want to loose weight then go for it, but don't do it because Nicole Richie is 100 pounds so you think you should be too. If we as a society want to stress being at a lower weight, it should be for the health benefits and not for cosmetic purposes.
