Interesting, because I thought it was from the fact that there are so many foreign guys in Japan for the single purpose of dating an Asian girl that it made non-Asian girls feel a bit invisible.
Honestly I don't think DNA has a thing to do with it and from what I see Japanese are just as varied as most everybody else in the world as far as body composition. I say most because, well, the US is kinda, um, overweight.
