Ironic... - 06-30-2007, 10:24 AM

There was an 80-year old man who cycled across Japan, then was killed by a truck on the final stretch.
A man in London drove a bus for 30 years. On his last day at work he drove his white Ford Escort van home when a bus travelling in the opposite direction collided with him and retired him for good...before the party.
His wife of 45 years said, "It's ironic, 30 years as a bus driver and it was a bus that took him out."
Irony? How about tragedy?
The "hard working man who was looking forward to his retirement" and spending time with his nine grandchildren was treated at the scene, taken to a hospital by air ambulance but in the end, it was the end. He will be buried three days before his 65th birthday.
Police aren't pointing fingers yet. Let's see, they collided. One or both of them had to be somewhere they didn't belong. How hard can it be?
Do you know of an incident when things were supposed to be starting, but rather came to an abrupt end?
