The TOMIE manga is so good, and the movies (1 and 2) really pale in comparison. They felt like JU-ON ripoffs to me. I will remember to try and see the later one(s).

I liked UZUMAKI the movie, and it does a good job of trying to keep the style of the manga, but the manga wins here.

I have to admit, I like the BATTLE ROYALE movie better than the manga (though I have only read the first handful of volumes). I am not really into the style of the manga. The kids were SO bad, that it was hard to feel sympathy for them, unlike in the movie.

I also have to disagree with MPD PSYCHO. I think the manga is much more together and comprehensible, though it does work your brain, than the video release. Remember, those fuzzed out marks in the movie were put in there by the director, not a censor.
Ok as a write this remember I like the manga versions of all of these better (except MPD PHSYCO)

You MUST read the ICHI THE KILLER if you liked the movie. I need to warn you, you will feel actual pain just by looking at the pictures (remember the part where Kakihara was about to split that guts penis in half? The SHOW that in the manga OW OW OW OW OW!!!!!)

The first two Tomie movies are TERRIBLE trust me though you wont be disapionted with the rest of the movies, yes they do continue to have alot of J-horror cliches (the 4th movie is even directed by Takashi Shimizu) but by the 3rd movie the sereise manages to have some good gory scenes and special effects. The 3rd movie is full of gore, and the 4th and 5th only have a little gore but its really realistic at the parts where they do. As for the 6th and 7th...they are barley worth seeing....

I completley agree about UZUMAKI

When it comes to battle royal I didnt feel like you were suposed to like the characters...that's like the whole point...it was like lord of the frlies...people are evil...blahblaha that kinnda thing...

Wait, Takashi Miike blurred out the gore????? Why the hell would he do that???? I though he didnt beleive in holding back! I thought it was just because it was going to air on television! Thats so stupid!
