Umm.... you could also so use a complex rhyme scheme... such as a certain amount of syllables per line, with each line rhyming!. All poems don't have to rhyme, but the ones that rhyme are more memorable! Take this one I wrote for an example!...

The lies, the truth.
Deceit, the proof.
Deceived by you.
Stolen, my youth.
Was I the fool,
For loving you?
What should I do?
Abandon you?
Try to pull through?
Shed tears for you?
I thought you knew
That I loved you.
I feel so used.
Also confused.
My heart's imbued
A crimson hue.
I must renew.
I must pursue
For the debut
of me, post-you!
