The show didn't need more violence or nudity, more plot and background stories would have helped.

YOU DIDNT LIKE ELFEN LIED??? I personaly loved it and thought it was amazing. The first episode was amazing. I loved all the violants and gore. But even when it did settle down I still loved it. I still didnt see it as a romantic comedy, I saw it as violant drama with strong romantic overtones and a few comedy undertones. I cant at all understand why you think it needed more plot and backround stories. I dont think I have ever seen an anime with as many backround storys as elfen lied. Considering aboult half of the sereise is flash backs of the characters childhood, and it just kept building up on this mysterious secret, and the more flash backs you see the more is reveiled about the characters pasts, and you keep coming closer and closer to learning the secret, until the last few episodes where all the peices of the puzzle are put together and you finally find out whats happening. How can you say it didnt have enough backround storys? How can you say it didnt have enough plot? I think it had some of the best plot I have ever seen in anime. I also thought it was interesting they way there were 2 personalitys in one body (it wasnt even scitzaphrenia, I think Nyyu and Lucy are actualy two diffrent people).
