! The best advice I can give to you is avoid Tokyo at first unless you have a great income in which you can afford to live there! There are cheap parts of Japan too don't believe the hype that JAPAN as a whole is expensive. If you go to the rural areas it's dirt cheap and yes it's possible to get a house there!
