As for that 'relationships never last, and marriages are fake versions of love' comment, my parents have been married 26 years and are still in love.

Long distance relationships for me mean waiting a long time to see someone and even then it may not happen.
I don't know about you, but I'd actually want to see my girlfriend on the regular, not that I have one mind you.
I want to be able to hear their voice and talk to them face to face.
I want to be able to go for walks with them at like 4am, cos it's ace.
