I'm 5'5~5'6 and only 15, but I'm confident of my height. I have a good friend in Japan, she is as tall as I am and a year younger, and she isn't even the tallest girl of her class. Tought we had few Japanese exchange female students (age 15) and they we're kinda short 4'9~5'0. But the guys were a lot taller so no worries ^--^V
I guess that in Japan there is some VERY short peoples that make the average height smaller that it is really.
