That's right jasonchua. Moving to a country that is as foreign as Japan to westerners requires a lot of flexibility from the newcomer. A lot! Sure, there are familiar things like McDonald's and Starbuck's and 7-11, but they aren't the same... not even close. It requires a strong sense of self and an adventurous spirit, as that journey may be tougher than any marathon and higher than Mt. Everest.
You definately learn a lot about yourself.
