Last week, actually, one of cartilage piercings became infected to the point of me going to the hospital >_>; Terrible story. My face, neck, and the infected ear became swollen and aching, and I had a five-day fever. When I went to the hospital (ER; I was visiting my parents so I wasn't able to contact my usual doctor), they hooked me up to an IV for an hour and prescribed me antibiotics. Anyway, it was the worst I'd felt in a long time --- nonstop aching in my head, face, and neck plus probably the worst & longest fever I've ever experienced. One of the doctors said I'd have to get the cartilage of my ear cut off if the tissue was already damaged too much but... uhh... that didn't happen.
