"Comfort Food" in the US usually refers to childhood favorite meals or inexpensive, and usually not super-healthy meals.
When I think comfort food I think grilled-cheese sandwiches, tator-tots, McDonald's cheeseburgers, frozen pizza, Mac and Cheese...
So I wouldn't call sushi a "comfort food"...though I eat it as often as I can. I think it is too healthy, expensive and rarely made by mom at home to fit that catagory (at least in the US)
