I enjoy watching high-quality drawing, with an average to good story-line, instead of all that western cartoon crap. The Guyver was the first thing I ever saw that resembled anime/manga. That got me searching. (It was seriously underground back then, not even allowed to rent any kind of manga without bringing a parent...) We convinced mom that we could watch Ghost in the Shell and Akira, that got the ball rolling....series like sailor moon, dragon ball and pokemon only reinforced my appreciation for them
