There are 9 roads. They each have kings assigned to them, but this is only majorly covered in the Manga, but is tapped on in the anime. The roads are:
Storm
Flame
Wind
Thunder
Fang
Thorn
Rumble
Pledge
and Gem
The road kings each have regalia which give their AT's special powers. The rumble regalia takes in air much faster than other AT's can, and allows for long jumps and high speeds rather quickly. The fang regalia can create gusts of air to ride on.
The girl Ikki likes [simca] works at a mechanic shop, but this is only covered in the manga i think.
