I've worked for NOVA
It has a bad reputation but it's not all bad!

Good Points
It's a piss easy job where you get paid a fair amount.
You never have to teach more than 4 students in a regular class
The work can be quite varied depending what training you receive
You don't have to work long hours (like the rest of Japanese companies)
You get paid to talk English
Depending on your boss, it can be really relaxed
Most of the people you will meet are nice
You can take a lot of holidays a year

Bad Points
Your pay will never significantly increase
You do not get paid for sick days (because too many people take the piss)
There is such I high turnover that it seems that NOVA doesn't care about it's teachers. (Yet again, this is a typical Japanese thing, the worker is not cared for just the profit)
The are zero benefits (you can never go home early, never get a christmas bonus from the company or a ham or anything)
Telling people you are an English teacher isn't as cool as telling them you are a doctor.
You don't get national holidays off

Depending on how long you want to stay in Japan then NOVA either is or isn't for you. It is definately not something to be avoided. Try it out, you might love it like I did or hate it! But if you don't try you'll never know!

I'm in the process of looking for a real Job in Japan now. One not teaching English!!!!
