Well,a boy(Ramza the main character) is a mercenary at first,then when you beat the first fight in the beginning,he reminisces about the times when him and his old friend last saw each other,he does because hs friend just kidnapped the princess and Ramza saw him.The main bad guys have things called Zodiac Stones that hold evil spirits and allows the carrier to become that spirit and be "immortal",truth is,they are easy if you train enough.So it's basically Ramza becoming a main fighter in a war and he fnds out about the Zodiac Stones and tries to stop them...Yea,it's fun
