I can`t believe I never posted in this.
I`ve never dated online. However...
I met my first boyfriend online, when I was 15 - *before* the internet was widely available - on a local dial-up BBS. We started going out after we physically met.
My second boyfriend was also met online. We started going out a while after we met physically... And after my first boyfriend and I broke up. (We`d been together a year and a half) We were together for *3* years...
And then I met a guy online who was in Japan (while I was in the US). We met physically here, and have been married now for 7 years.
Pretending to date someone over the net is a waste of time, and is just silly in my eyes. But I don`t see anything wrong with eventually dating someone you first encounter online, as long as the actual relationship starts after a real life meeting.
But I would also never trust anyone who was looking for a relationship online. All of my experiences started with light friendships - never a hint of anything more in the works. If any of them had hit on me or something like that online, I would have never met them in real life to begin with.
If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.
