Tha's right. That would sound much better to the Japanese ear because we KNOW exactly whose name you're talking about.
Better yet, say "(name) to moushimasu." That would by far be the best and most Japanese way. Phrases like "Watashi wa xxxxx desu." are merely English translations and therefore, are not something you can expect us Japanese to say.
