My husband had the 3 rings of death too. Twice. The first time, he sent it in and got it fixed for free. The second time he did this X-clamp mod thing. The directions are online somewhere and now it works just fine.
And yes, we're excited about assassin's creed. Though hubby is more than I. I'm all about Mass Effect.
