As Masaegu rightly suggests "taberu" is much more commonly used and the word you want to be worrying about as a beginner, but using the word "
kuu" {
extremely crude/casual} you would say:-
りんごが
くいたい
ringo ga
kuitai
"I want to
eat an apple".
note: "kuu" is a very rough word, you should avoid using it in polite conversation.
