I was a pachinko addict for about a year and had to go cold turkey. I don't really have any good pachinko memories, though I did enjoy playing, but I do have a lot of keiba memories.
My other gaijin friend and I would go to Sonoma Keibajyo once a month or so. It wasn't JRA, so there was something fishy going on, but it wasn't long before we found people that would give us "hints" to the horses we should bet on.
A couple times (because we were foreigners) some lucky-streakers would offer to take me and my buddy out to dinner after the races. "Tell us which horse will win the next race, and you have a deal." They would, we would cash in, and get taken to a nice Kobe-beef yakuniku spot.
Is that bad?
