There have been some good endings where the main character dies: Death Note, Neon Genesis Evangelion (if you consider those "deaths" in the movie), and many more. Though, personally, my favorite one's where one of the supporting character dies and the female supporting admits her love for the male protagonist and vice versa (but this has only happened in a few of them)  |
