I just learned how to make onigiri last week in class. I made one with Salmon. The other one with a tuna/soy/Japanese mayo mix and we wrapped it in Nori. It's very easy to prepare, although, I haven't tried it on my own yet. I don't know how to make sticky rice and don't own a rice cooker or steamer to make things easier for me.
Seems that once you get the hang of making it, it comes easier and you can experiment with it.
