Haha, this is the funniest post! I'm also from Winnipeg looking to learn more Japanese. I learned basic Japanese at Vincent Massey Collegiate and some at the University of Manitoba. I was about to make a post for a language exchange also. Apparently we have a Japanese cultural centre that can help us learn Japanese. I still have to look it up. I was told they have good resources, such as children's books for beginners and people that will tutor.
