It was a close call between deathnote and bleach, but in the end I guess I had to vote for Bleach. Ryuk is great, in fact my favourite shinigami in death note, but him and his pals looked so dumb
. They didn't know much about the human world. They thought humans were fun and they simply fed on human life to extend their own. In their own dimension they were a bunch of lazy beings playing poker for survival.
Repulsive as they looked and given the fact that they had the deathnote to bring death they still didn't seem like proper shinigami at all. As shinigami I'd expect at the very least that death gods know all about humans because they preside over human death!!! Since they're "gods", I'd expect them to have the intelligence to match that title. And finally I'd expect a deathgod to have their own powers not just feed off the quality of a book.
Bleach shows shinigami having all their attributes more than deathnote my vote confidently goes to bleach!
