Well...there are an awful lot of yaoi overtones and the artist does draw them in som pretty yaoi-riffic poses, but she insists that the relationship between Cain and Riff is more like mother and child. Personally, I'd say it's love. Wonderful series, tearful end. Well worth the read. You may want to check out the prequel series
