Yay! Finally a topic I have some knowledge in, since I've been playing drums for 6 years.
I'm not all that familiar with a lot of those drummers, the only one I know well is Yoshiki.
Now, to be brutally honest, the drum parts to X-Japan songs are pretty samey, and his drum solos (from a drummer's point of view) aren't very good..

BUT the one thing he has over lots of drummers is his stamina and passion. Seriously, I can play maybe 3 X Japan songs before I get too tired and can't go on. I have no idea where he gets his energy from. The fact he can maintain playing at the speed he does is worth mention.

If anyone wants to see a real critically acclaimed Japanese drummer look in to "Akira Jimbo". He's world class.
