I've been wanting to go to the Normandy American Cemetery for ages x.O But... no one wants to accompany me
I have been to many cementeries that honor American soldiers that fought in the WWII (in France, mainly) but this one doesn't compare, here are a couple of pictures:
See the gravestones in the background? There're over 9.000.
So beautiful. What an honor to be buried here.
Ps- I like to visit cemeteries, I never thought of it as lack of respect towards the family of the deceaseds since I don't go there to do anything disrespectful. Besides, graves can be a work of art in themselves; when you take a picture of one you're not being rude to whoever is buried underneath, but responding with admiration to the artist’s talent.
