Police agency gets ball rolling on supervising interrogations

The National Police Agency adopted a procedure Thursday for taking such measures as setting up a new post to supervise and monitor interrogations in the wake of a recent spate of acquittals largely due to inappropriate questioning of suspects.
The procedure was adopted to cover a guideline the NPA compiled in January to have personnel other than those from investigative divisions monitor and supervise interrogations.
