Erm, well, it wasn't exactly specificed so... The Grim Reaper from "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy"? xD
The death god had been mythically notorious for extracting souls from anything living. The conventional impression of the term's mention typically results in an imaginary image of a 'scary' and/or 'sinister' skeleton in a dark hood holding a promiscuously murderous scythe.
Thanks to the rebellious insolence of the younger generation, particularly Japan, though, the death god, or shinigami, has been forced to conform to the liability to be tenacious, with regards to having human emotions comprehension and hues attributed to them. At times, to the extent of which it plays the main protagonist/antagonist in a story.
And that's how a shinigami should be XD.
There's no such thing as happy endings, for when you find true love, happiness is everlasting.
