Kanji that I would never forget is this one:
議
The 音読み is ぎ and there aren't any 訓読み (I'm not sure why I prefer kanji without kunyomi, I just do) and the meaning is 'debate' or 'consultation'.
Although it has monstrous amount of strokes (20, I think) I won't forget it, because, when we had lecture on Japanese politics I was forced to write it like fifty times
(our professor is a kanji maniac and this kanji is part of almost every compound, that has something to do with Japanese parlament)
