Chapter Two--Ab Absurdo ("from the absurd" said of an argument that seeks to prove a statement's validity by pointing out the absurdity of an opponent's position)
"Yo! Ferric! Get the hell up," Domenikos shook Ferric awake. Ferric opened his eyes and shot straight up to his feet, despite how weak he felt.
"Where'd that bastard go?!" Ferric yelled, and looked around him. He was standing in the middle of a field, and it was a little after dawn.
"Where the hell am I?"
Domenikos laughed. "In a field."
Ferric spat on the ground. "No shit, idiot."
"My, someone's angry," Domenikos said mockingly.
"Well yeah; the jack ass got away, and he nearly killed me...!" Ferric said angrily and touched his neck. Two already healing marks were all that were left behind. I should have a dead body to go along with them..."He got you, didn't he?" Domenikos accused.
"No," Ferric replied stubbornly.
"Yeah, he did. He got you, Ferric! Ah, this is funny!" Domenikos laughed and clapped his hands together.
Ferric pushed him to the ground. "Shut up."
A moment later, Ferric disappeared, the words Don't follow me on his lips.

"My beloved Ferric, wake up please," Raemis cooed, stroking Ferric's hair. Ferric sat up and grabbed Raemis' wrist forcefully.
"Ow, stop being mean," Raemis said, pulling his arm away, but Ferric wouldn't let go.
"Don't ever touch me again, you fucking freak," Ferric snarled and pulled Raemis' arm up. Then he lifted his leg and kicked Raemis' chest, knocking him to the ground.
Raemis frowned and stood up, his long red hair falling around him, one hand on his chest.
"You're not in a very good mood today. Boss Amos sent me--it's 2 hours past noon, where's you target?"
Ferric remained silent as he stood up from the couch and stretched. Raemis ran his pale hand through his hair and sighed.
Ferric walked past him, into the kitchen, and got himself a glass of water. He sat at the kitchen table.
"Did the target get away?" Raemis asked quietly, turning to face Ferric. Ferric closed his eyes, remembering what had happened...Ferric had never felt that way, not ever. He opened his eyes again and downed the whole glass.
Raemis sighed again. "Well, it's okay. Boss Amos isn't supposed to present for another two weeks. You've got time, Ferric darling. Everyone's gotta make at least one mistake," Raemis said, appearing at Ferric's side and placing a hand on his shoulder. Ferric jumped up, his glass smashing to the ground.
"Dammit! Don't touch me!" Ferric yelled, shaking off the out of place fear that had made him jump when Raemis touched him.
"You're jumpy, Ferric. What did that guy do to you? I didn't think there was anyone who could spook Heartless," Raemis said, putting his hand to his forehead and smiling slightly.
"I'm fine, Raemis. I'll kill him tonight. Tell Amos not to worry," Ferric said emotionlessly. He waved his hand to the side, shooing Raemis away. Raemis nodded and disappeared.
Ferric sighed, and ran his hands through his now sleep-provoked messy hair, trying to straighten it out. How the hell did this happen? I don't understand. How did he control me like that, how did he make me feel like that? This guy is gonna die tonight. I don't know how, but I'm going to kill him. I'll sneak up on him in the alley outside the Locale--he won't be expecting another hit the night after...or will he?Ferric slammed his fist down on the table. "Dammit, what if he's expecting exactly that?!"
"Stop," Ferric whispered, running his pale hand through his hair again. "Think." He closed his eyes and ran several scenarios through his head. If Tin came at him from behind again, he'd start counting in Russian so as not to hear that voice, and duck down and swipe under Tin's legs with his own. He played everything from Tin having accomplices ot Tin breaking down and pleading for his life, through his mind. Then he stood up, stretched, took a shower, and put on a pair of baggy dark grey jeans and a black t-shirt.
Ferric disappeared and reappeared in the ally outside of Locale 47. He leaned against the wall, waiting for Tin to appear, keeping his ears alert for any and all sounds. Twice vampires appeared, and he had to crouch down so as not to be seen. An hour later, Ferric took a few steps away from the brick wall to stretch his legs, and when he leaned back, it was into someone's arms, and warm breath was at his neck.
"Ferr-," Tin began, but Ferric was quicker.
"Razh! Dvah! Tree! Cheetee-ree! Pyet!," Ferric yelled out, ducked from within Tin's surprised grasp, and took Tin down with his legs in a mere moment. As Tin disappeared, Ferric yelled out, "You're not gonna get me this time, you little prick!"
Tin appeared on the other side of the alley, about 10 feet away, laughing in the same rythmic way he spoke.
"Hey little half-demon. Did you come back for more?" Tin asked mockingly, easily dodging Ferric's next attack, appearing again on the opposite side of the alley, where Ferric previously stood.
"I'M NOT A HALF DEMON!" Ferric said angrily, glaring at Tin. It's pointless to go at him head on. How can I get close to him without getting caught in his stupid powers?
"I'm sorry. Three-fourths demon. But your blood was by far the best I've ever tasted," Tin said in a somewhat sincere tone, licking his teeth slowly. Ferric's eyes rested for a moment on Tin's sharp canine teeth, and memories of their last encounter flooded back to his mind.
"You're going to die tonight, my friend," Ferric said in a twisted voice.
Tin smiled again, and Ferric's insides turned to ice.
"After our last little meeting, I think we're either very good friends or extremely bad enemies," Tin remarked in a slightly sadistic tone. Ferric disappeared and reappeared behind Tin, grabbing his jaw-length grey hair forcibly and whispering in Tin's ear angrily, "That was all you and your freaky little power."
Tin laughed softly, then twisted so that Ferric's arm nearly broke. Ferric let go, but quickly drop kicked Tin again, and while Tin was still on the ground, he pulled out his silver bladed athame and quickly knelt to hold it to Tin's throat.
"My, my. my, you're a straightforward kinda guy, aren't you? Well, before you go and off me, let me let you in on a little secret...," Tin said, then his voice was that melodic whisper again, "...I wasn't using my powers the second time our lips met."
With a smirk, he disappeared from Ferric's grip, leaving Ferric enraged and speechless. [/b]
I'm pretty content with life right now....For the most part, anyway....Well, at least, I'm pretty sure I am....
