For the first one, I'm not sure. Where's the area you're in? It sounds familar I just can't pinpoint it.
For Gunner's Gaunlet, I find it easy to stand somewhere by the end and just let the enemies come to you. That's my advice, sorry if it doesn't help (I kind of suck at it...)
