It is true but I feel like there's a reason for it...I'm one of those "there's reason for everything" people. Like Acidreptile said, it's necessary and there's also tons of animals that adapt so that they don't go extinct and tons more that pop up after others are gone. Maybe some go extinct in order to make room for new ones.
