Some people want to meet foreigners to learn English.
Some people want to meet foreigners because their daddies told them not to.
Some people want to meet foreigners because they want to have someone they know from a foreign country.
I was never really interested in people (male or female) that were interested in me solely because of my nationality.
However I did make lots of friends who were interested in me as a person, and couldn't care less about where I was born. Those are the people I still visit when I go back to Japan.
