Pretty much any show on early in the morning has a clock in the corner. It`s actually more likely that it`s a weekday, rather than a weekend, as the clock is usually for those watching before they leave for school or work.

It`s the time of day. As most people don`t have cable and don`t have 24 hour channels, the hours which a child is awake and at home able to watch are limited. The most adult shows are on late (as in 1am or later) so it`s really not much of an issue.
Also, with smaller children, in general parents tend not to be very hands off with them and micro-manage their time.
