I never realized
That every pain I felt
Others, too, had cried
Why warn me about tomorrow
When I'm stuck in yesterday?
Why try to pull me closer
When I'm just too far away?
A single mistake was made
But it was so much more
Slamming everything in my face
By closing every door
What am I supposed to think?
How am I supposed to act?
I'm lost in confusion
And don't know how to react
The things I wish I had,
The things I wish I said
Keep haunting my dreams
And creating chaos in my head
A stupid mistake'
A second of joy
Created havoc and pain
And made my life a broken toy
"Please fix this toy, it's broken,"
Says the small boy to his Dad
"Sorry, darling, it's too broken
To be fixed like what you had."
"But, Daddy, if we try real hard,
Maybe it won't be so bad."
Dad replied, "Son, I'm sorry, butthis toy
Will only make you sad."
See how that works--
A broken toy is a broken toy
And all the things that make me cry
Are the things that once gave me joY
A wrongful mistake;
A moment of coy
Created pain and sadness
And now my life's a broken toy
