Fingers for sushi and chopsticks for sashimi.
But if I am with at a social function and the majority are using chopsticks for their sushi, I may do so also so as not to call attention to the difference. The exception to that would be when hosting my sushi dinners. Since some new members look to myself and the other host for etiquette guidance, I will stick with my usual preference for fingers.
Or like last night I was already eating everything else with chopsticks, so when my dinner partner offered part of the eel roll I used them rather than switch modes for the one bite.
