Try both Karate and Aikido. I studied Aikido for years in Japan and taught in the states. I studied Karate after retunring to the states. As an Aikidoka I found my Aikido improved. I see many Karate folks improve after doing Aikido. But they're both so different. Try both for a short while until you gain some basic understanding, then choose one to major in. After you reach 1st or second degree in the preferred art, try the other for a whild. Don't give up on your major, but you can satisfy your interest for another art and compliment your first.
