Here is an old saying, but a very wise one:
"Believe nothing that you read, and only half of what you see."
With the advent of the internet and 24 hour television news stations, newspapers are dying a painful death. But they aren't going quietly, they'll say anything and everything they can to be provocative enough to get people to buy a few more copies.
American papers such as the New York Times, Washington Post, and San Francisco Chronicle have been running in the red (losing money) for years now, the companies which own them only keep them going for the sake of "principle", which is beyond ironic.
