Wai Wai was tabloid news, yellow journalism.
The stories were openly bought and translated from tabloids in Japan.
Read that again.
These were stories translated from Japanese tabloid magazines that pass off the same articles as news in Japan.
If it is good enough to publish in Japan then it is good enough to translate to English.
Wai Wai was often funny, usually tasteless and, I beleive, mostly harmless.
Are young girls selling thier bodies to buy nice clothes in Japan. Sure!
Is mother-con pornography gaining popularity? Sure!
Does beastiality happen? Sure!
No one would mistake those to be Japanese traditions, but extreme cases...that's why they are in the "news". If these were real traditions they wouldn't be newsworthy, would they?
And may I pick up the mirror and point out that statements like "Recently , in Japan the crime of foreighners against Japanese kids
and women has been increased ," C'mon...the only thing that has increased is people like to blame foreigners when a crime is commited (often when the victim doesn't want the bad guy to be caught).
I am now afraid of going abroad and meeting foreighn men ,
and so am I afraid that little Japanese kids and other women
getting violated by foreighn men .
Who is the one that has lost touch with reality?
Please, live in fear of foreigners in the safety of your home. We don't need anyone with this attitude here.
