So my mother and I were going through storage the other day and way in the back we found a realllly old Japanese umbrella...She got it like 20 years ago when she was in Japan and it's got a few holes in it from sitting in the hot storage box and collecting dust
It's got some painting of a guy in a kimono with an odd haircut and words all over it. it looks like it's made out of silkscreen and bamboo....Or maybe it's ricepaper? I can't really tell the difference in the two but it's kinda a dry warn light brown texture. Almost like antique paper..if that makes sense. Maybe that's normal and it's just meant to look really old.
Anyone know what this style is called and if it's actually used as an umbrella? or is it purely decoration..
Because i'm gonna repair it and use it cause it looks fckin pro XD
O.o I'll take a pic of it and see if I can get one of you to translate it
