I think I may have mentioned it earlier, but "How are you doing" does have a few variations in Canada.
In increasing informality:
"How is business/the family?"
"How are you?"
"How are things?"
"How goes?"
And in cases of long absence:
"How have things been for you lately?"
"What's been keeping you busy?"

Yes you told me how you would say when you greet!
I wanted to know that you guys don't use
"How are you going?" as a greeting.
so now I know that Canadian people don't use it!
What about this situation?
In a classroom, you are a teacher.
You asked the students to work on a workbook.
The classroom is quiet.
You just go circulating the room to see how they go.
Then you might say
"How are you going?" to a student who looks like having a
difficult time to do that workbook?
