8:07AM An Angry Poem
By: me(inoar)
Whiskey stained lips and an appetite for summer
soft blue grass and trees sharing their umbra
birds singing songs that I'll try to hum along
kids will be fishing and skipping rocks in the pond
dogs will roam freely in the middle of the streets
until the pound picks them up.
they'll be dead asleep by morning
Remember those sad songs we heard on the radio?
the ones that made everyone quiet and listen up real good
we all hung our ears over the car speakers
he had such a calm voice and we needed to hear it a little easier
the words were so vague and we thought we could relate
but I knew everything he sang about..well it was fake..
I knew by the expressions he used in his voice
even if he wanted to sound dramatic he had no choice
because it sells
it sells t-shirts and bumper stickers
and buttons and posters
but what it doesn't sell...is honesty
...at least to me
I find it really hard to speak of positive situations
everyone tells me that's something ''self created''
you can't be negative and expect good things to happen
bag up all of those emotions and toss them into the trash can
but I don't think that anyone is really grasphing
the truth is that love comes less often
.... and pain is ever lasting
