A couple of sentences I need translated... - 07-07-2008, 12:41 PM

I stupidly decided to write about the history of Canada for my Japanese essay which has to be about an interesting place I've visited, which is due tomorrow. There are a couple of things I want to say but have a hard time translating.

実はたくさんQuebecに住んでいる人あまり英語を話せませ ん。
(In fact, many people that live in Quebec can't speak much English)

Montrealは最初の英語をあまり話さない人にいる所に一人 行ったことがあるから、少し緊張しました。
(Because Montreal was the first place I'd ever been to by myself where many people didn't speak much English, I was a little nervous.)

Does it sound right? Please help me somebody
