My favorite is Katsuhiro Otomo(Akira). He's such an amazing artist, he's so original and he spends so much time on his work making it look awsome. It took him almost a decade to finish 'Steamboy'.
I also like Tohru Fujisawa, GTO is so funny and he never fails to find a way to perpetuate a story that has me stumped as to what could possibly happen next.
