There is definately an issue of racism, but keep in mind that all tourists are interesting...
Just like any country there are disrespectful people, but to some extent everyone is rude. People from other countries will always be thought of as lower because they are not citizens, it is just the way it goes. This is because they have do not have very much experience and the residents do.
