I see.
I understand that cos it happens between Japanese and Japanese too.

Yep, I'm a guy, so I guess I won't have to worry about this much. Still, it seems like a confusing thing to have to deal with. You have my sympathy.

Yes, it's confusing and complicating, but
those people expect me to understand it and do "the right thing"
because I AM a JAPANESE GIRL.
If I don't look like a Japanese, then they wouldn't expect.
I sometimes think I should have my hair totally blonde and wear
coloured contacts then pretend like I can't understand Japanese.

Wow... Doing something like that to a woman in the US would end up with the woman kicking the guy in the groin.

haha,he sould go then, and get kicked!

That's rude for a variety of reasons. At least your coworkers helped you out. I would teach you what we call that type of woman in English, but I would get in trouble with the moderators.

hahaha, I would love to know those words!
When I was working at a secondary college in Australia
as "a visitor teacher", the kids were all trying to teach me
all the bad and rude words but always their teachers stopped them.
The kids also wanted me to teach them bad ones in Japanese,
but as you know, our bad words don't sound as bad as yours.
or maybe Osaka dialect does, but I don't know much about it.

...I don't think these guys should ever try dating in the United States. It wouldn't end well for them.

You know what? Those Japanese guys usually don't know about other countries+ don't understand English, so it would be very difficult for them to find a date anyway!

Arguing with drunks is usually pointless, but at the same time you should stand up for yourself if it gets out of control. I'm not even a woman (or Japanese) and I was insulted by the last story you gave about how you were told a "good" Japanese woman "should serve" a man.
|
I was told that I have to be "a good Japanese girl"
if I ever wanted to be a "geisha" or a "hostess" at a special bar in Ginza,Tokyo.
I didn't want to be neither of them.
But I have asked if I wanted to work as a hostess
by some of the owners of those bars.
They said I should because I could be a good hostess, cos I TALK a lot, and
I could earn a lot, they emphasised.
But I couldn't be bothered to learn all the lesson "How to be a GOOD Japanese girl to be loved by Japanese men"
I just wanted to be real "ME"
so I told them no thank you and go away.
I have a question!
How would you react when a Japanese woman sitting next to you
watching you and serves you like...
keep pouring your drink before you finish,
gives you tissue or towel just before you were trying to get one by yourself,
get a lighter and be ready to light up when you just touch the box of cigarette(maybe you don't smoke, but just imagine!)
Do you think this girl is a girl of all guys dream?

I need more time, too! It's almost time for me to go to bed, otherwise I would be writing more in Japanese. I'm being a bad student.
But, this is good practice for you, at least!

Yes, you have been a bad student! haha
There are no new message in that Japanese Hiragana thread anymore.
I really want to help you guys! So please come again!
Even a short message will do, you know! Good practice!
